WESTHAMPTON – Both newly established programs and powerhouses sent athletes to the next level during Hampshire Regional’s signing ceremonies Wednesday.
Two girls lacrosse players (the school began hosting the cooperative program in 2022), two field hockey players (established in 2020), a boys lacrosse player (who competes for St. Mary’s) and a softball player (two state championships) announced college commitments.
Samantha Moran will play lacrosse at Emmanuel, while Hailey Raffa is headed to Curry College for lacrosse. Moran has 17 goals and seven assists this season. Raffa, also an accomplished gymnast, has accumulated nine goals and eight draw controls.
Evan Carmody is continuing his career at Husson University (Bangor, Maine). He’s scored eight goals with seven assist for the Saints.
From Hampshire’s field hockey program, Olivia Labrie is making the short trip to Westfield State, and Nora Jamel will play at Meredith College (Raleigh, North Carolina).
Hampshire softball pitcher Jocelyn Mettey will head to Lasell University in Newton next season.
