Maggie Rubeck scored a career-high 34 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, as the Hampshire Regional girls basketball team outpaced Westfield, 71-51, Friday in Westhampton.
Maddie Pond added 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Kyleen Labrecque scored eight and had 12 rebounds.
“They did a great job on the boards,” Hampshire coach Amy Cyr said.
Lila Labrie had 10 points.
Hampshire (5-3) raced to a 19-5 lead after the first quarter and didn’t slow.
Gateway Regional 41, Hampden Charter 26 — Hannah Duggan had 12 points and Becca Herman added 11 as the Gators (6-2, 4-0 Tri-County South) won in Huntington.
Gateway outscored Hampden 11-3 in the second quarter to take 17-7 lead at halftime.
The Gators were 18-for-34 from the free-throw line. Herman was 7 of 15, while Duggan was 6 of 8.
Smith Vocational 51, Westfield Tech 23 — The Vikings got a double-double for Sydney Cyr and went 15-for-20 from the free-throw line to win in Westfield.
Cyr had 14 points and 15 rebounds, while Ella Sherman added 12 points.
Central 69, Amherst Regional 31 — Erin Klaes finished with 17 points and two 3-pointers, but the Hurricanes (2-5) fell to the 2018 Division 1 state runners-up at home.
Central (6-1) led 27-2 after the first quarter.
Smith Academy 55, Turners Falls 43 — Karlie Guimond tallied 19 points, nine steals and five rebounds in a home win.
Emma Kelly notched a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Victoria Smiarowski scored 12 for the Falcons (5-4), which outscored Turners Falls 22-13 in the third quarter.
East Longmeadow 48, Belchertown 40 — After trailing for the most of the game, a three-point play by Sonia Dugger with about 2½ minutes left pulled the Orioles within two points.
Belchertown got a defensive stop at the other end by forcing an air ball, but the Spartans grabbed the offensive rebound and eventually converted a three-point play to push ahead.
Emma LeBlanc finished with a team-high 14 points for Belchertown (4-5).
Ware 43, Easthampton 16 — Emma Downer scored eight points, as the Eagles (2-5) fell on the road.
South Hadley 58, Minnechaug 54 — The Tigers made 26-of-43 free throws in a home win.
Bailey Gawron led the way with 15 points. Mia Kelly scored 10, Bella Earle had nine and Brooke Zatowski added eight for South Hadley (4-4).
Paige Marjanski scored seven.
Granby 52, Hampden Charter 40 — Freshman Nate Breault made five 3s and scored a career-high 22 points, as the Rams (6-3) won on the road.
Ryan Gaughan added 12 points, while Kyle Murdock scored 11.
The Rams cemented their lead by outscoring Hampden Charter 18-10 in the fourth quarter.
