NORTHAMPTON – Fifteen cars were broken into and a car was stolen Wednesday evening and Thursday morning, police said.

All the break-ins occurred in the Market Street and Bridge Street area, and all involved unlocked cars, police said. There were break-ins on Marshall Street, Walnut Street and Cherry Street, according to police.

Although all the break-ins occurred within the same time frame, police said it’s too early to say that they are related. Crime Scene Services has processed all the vehicles that were broken into.

In addition to the break-ins, police said a car was also stolen from the same area that night. The car, a gray Toyota Yaris, has not yet been found, and police said the theft may be related to the break-ins.

Anyone with information about the break-ins should contact the Northampton Police Department.
