The Amherst College women’s lacrosse team outscored Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 6-1 in the final 20 minutes for a 14-8 victory in the NCAA Division III Tournament second round, Sunday at Pratt Field.
The Mammoths (13-5) advance to the regional finals and will play No. 10 Catholic University (17-4) this weekend.
The win was the 400th for coach Chris Paradis at Amherst.
Isabelle Sennett had five goals, while Dani DiTommaso had three. Claire Dunbar had a pair of assists and goals, while Becky Kendall had two goals and Hannah Fox two assists.
Franklin & Marshall 17, Springfield 3 — Kate Sarnacki (Granby) scored twice but the Pride (13-7) fell Sunday in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Plymouth State 19, New England College 3 — Tara Bainbridge (South Hadley) had two goals and an assist but the Pilgrims fell in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament, Saturday in Medford.
Amherst 16, Wesleyan 13 — The No. 7 Mammoths outscored the No. 10 Cardinals 6-2 over the final 12 minutes to defeat the defending national champions Saturday afternoon at Pratt Field in the NCAA Division III Tournament third round.
Amherst (16-3) will host No. 3 Tufts Wednesday in the quarterfinals.
Matt Solberg (four goals) tied the game at 11-11 then gave the Mammoths a 12-11 lead. Evan Wolf and Dylan Finazzo made it 14-11. Wesleyan answered, but Jon Coffey and Solberg pushed the lead to 16-12 with 2:18 left.
Colin Minicus and Jackson Herrick each had three goals.
Amherst 5, Johns Hopkins 0 — The sixth-ranked Mammoths advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Championship for the second consecutive season with the sweep at the University Indoor Tennis Center Sunday afternoon in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Maddie Dewire and Anya Ramras got the Mammoths going with the first point at No. 3 doubles.

Amherst 5, Mary Washington 1 — The Mammoths booked a trip to the quarterfinal round at the national championship site in Kalamazoo, Michigan, with their victory Sunday afternoon at Bay Road Tennis Center in the NCAA Division III Regional Finals.
Jayson Fung clinched the match at third singles. Fung was down 4-2 in the first set but rallied and won a tiebreaker 7-1.
In the second set against Moses Hutchison, Fung again fell behind, but came back to tie the set at two games apiece and then rolled for the next four games.
The Mammoths advanced to the regional finals with a 5-0 win over Wilkes Saturday afternoon at the Amherst Tennis Courts.
Harris Foulkes and Zach Bessette set the tone with a dominant 8-0 win at second doubles to open play.
Rhode Island 8, UMass 3 — The Minutemen (17-24, 8-11 Atlantic 10) fell behind 8-0 en route to the road loss Saturday.
Eddy Hart (3-for-4) had an RBI double and Nolan Kessinger had a two-run homer for UMass. Both came in the sixth inning.
