This year’s spring musical at Anne T. Dunphy Elementary School is Disney’s “Newsies Jr.”

Based on the 1992 film, the musical is inspired by the rousing true story of newsboys in turn-of-the-century New York City. When powerful newspaper publishers raise prices at the newsboys’ expense, the charismatic Jack Kelly rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions.

The musical will take place over two days, on Friday, April 5, at 7 p.m., and on Saturday, April 6, at 2 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. The school is located at 1 Petticoat Hill Road. Call 413-268-8421 to reserve tickets.
