Ruth Banta: Let’s Dance celebration a hit for Pathlight

All of us at Pathlight want to thank the community for the success of our recent Let’s Dance celebration, which raised just over $114,000 to support people with developmental disabilities throughout western Massachusetts.

The event pairs people with disabilities with community members, including Greenfield Community College President Yves Salomon-Fernandez, Northampton’s Director of Student Services Pam Plumer, and Greenfield Savings Bank Vice President Tara Brewster, to perform an uplifting, raucous and standing-ovation-worthy dance performance.

Aside from raising critical funds to support our programs, including Whole Children and Autism Connections, the evening was truly Pathlight’s mission in action: People with and without disabilities working together to create an inclusive community where people with disabilities are given the opportunity to shine and to pursue a life of their choosing.

Thank you to the dancers who spent months preparing and the volunteers from across the community who helped with choreography, photography, makeup, fundraising and so much more. And, of course, the great team at Pathlight who pulled it all together, and the community that supported it all.

With your partnership we look forward to a new year of ensuring that people with disabilities have access to all that our vibrant community has to offer.
