SOUTHAMPTON — The town’s 2025 municipal election ballot is taking shape, with interested candidates putting their names forth both through nomination papers and the Annual Town Caucus.

According to Town Clerk Lucille Dalton, 30 people attended last week’s Town Caucus, and remained until 9 p.m. Following the caucus, more names have been added to the town’s ballot, which heads to voters in May.

Candidates currently on the ballot are Robert Floyd for moderator, Christine Fowles for a three-year term on the Select Board, Ellen Denruyn for a two-year term on the Select Board, Christine Laprade for four years as almoner, Linda Green for a three-year term on the Board of Assessors, Leah Carrasquillo for a three-year term on the Board of Health, William Wells for a three-year term as cemetery commissioner, Jessica McConnell, Carolyn McKeown, Michelle Nolen, Pamela Bernier, Tracy Collins and Jessica Hufnagle for three years as library trustees, Anne Bowman for a five-year term on the Housing Authority, Paula Maak for five years as park commissioner, James Labrie for a four-year term on the Planning Board, Catherine Thibodeau and Lori Wayson for three years on the School Committee, Ron Laurin for one year as tree warden, and Stephen Johnson for three years as water commissioner.

So far, Dalton told the Gazette that there are no competitive elections. In fact, more candidates are needed for several boards, including the Finance Committee, the Personnel Policy and Procedure Board, the Housing Authority, the Board of Assessors, and the Hampshire Regional School Committee.

Because both the March deadline for nomination papers and the Town Caucus have passed, further interested candidates must be elected via a write-in campaign.

Town residents are encouraged to mark their calendars for the annual Town Meeting, which will take place on May 6 at 7 p.m. at The Norris School, and the annual Town Election, which will take place on May 20 from 12 to 8 p.m. at the Senior Center.

Town accepting input on accessibility

WESTHAMPTON — The town is seeking input on overall accessibility through a one-question survey available on the town website at westhamptonma.gov.

Residents can provide input on whether they feel town offices, rooms and outdoor spaces are easily accessed and used, whether town information materials are easy to find, hear, see, understand and use, and whether town events, programs, processes and classes are accessible to all for meaningful participation.

This survey will close on May 30.
