AMHERST — An Amherst Senior Center Health Fair takes place Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Bangs Community Center, 70 Boltwood Walk.
With Medicare open enrollment underway, local providers will be onsite to answer questions.
“A lot of people just don’t know the options that are around, and there are quite a few different providers in the area,” Senior Center Director Hayley Bolton told the Council on Aging last month.
Organizations that provide mental health services, hearing services and medication management will be among those participating. Specifically, those expected to be part of the health fair include Massachusetts Behavioral Health Help Line, University of Massachusetts Kinesiology, Christopher Heights, Hospice of the Fisher Home, MedMinder, Mass General Brigham/Cooley Dickinson Hospital, Highland Valley Elder Services and Health New England.
HAYDENVILLE — The documentary film, “Kiss the Ground,” about the power of regenerative agriculture to reverse global warming, will be shown at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Haydenville Congregational Church, 143 Main St. (Route 9), Haydenville.
The film is narrated by actor Woody Harrelson. It presents the research and practices involved in creating healthy soil as a way to fight climate change, address the water crises, and improve human wellness.
The free event is co-sponsored by the Haydenville Church Peace and Justice Committee, and Grow Food Northampton.
