Bloomfield, CT – Robert Garfield Hubbard (90), a longtime resident of Bloomfield, CT. passed away on April 11, 2026. Born on March 26, 1936, he was the son of the late Garfield and Helen Hubbard of West Farms in Northampton, MA.
Robert grew up in Northampton and attended Northampton High School graduating in 1953. He attended American International College earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with a major in accounting. Following graduation, he worked as a public accountant with Arthur Young and Co. in New York City.
Bob was a proud veteran serving honorably in the Army in the Signal Corp during the 1956 Suez Canal Crisis in North Africa.
Bob moved to Bloomfield and was employed by Veeder Root where he became a financial analyst. Bob, his father and brother Bill and friends built a brick house in Bloomfield completed in 1968. He enjoyed watching birds gather around his backyard feeders and lived in the home until his passing.
Bob leaves his brother William and wife Sandy of Florence; daughter, Lynn Stanwood and husband Charles and granddaughter’s, Emily and Jessica; son Brian and wife Adrianna of Pembroke Pines, Florida; son Gregory and wife Rebecca of Bloomfield CT, and former wife, Metaxia Hubbard. He was predeceased by his sisters Joan Wells and Betty Lamoureux.
A memorial service will be held on April 18, 2025 at 11AM at Old Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 59 Tariffville Rd, Bloomfield, CT.
