Why did Donald Trump invade Iran? To feed his own vanity! His declarations about improving national security are bogus excuses. He just wanted to realize his earlier boast that he could get away with murder. Now he has committed murder and thinks he can get away with it.
He might, but we shall not. The Iranians and others will blame every American for the actions of this irresponsible despot — a bully with nuclear weapons. They will use every means at their disposal to punish us for his misdeeds.
We must make Donald Trump a lame duck after the 2026 elections by replacing his enablers in Congress with responsible representatives. My wife and I are investing thousands of dollars to help do this.
Between now and then, senior military officers who have earned their full retirement benefits could retire and take them. Those who remain, bearing in mind the oath each one has taken, could refuse to carry out illegitimate orders. Junior and non-commissioned officers and enlisted men could leave the armed forces once their enlistments are up. Young people considering military careers should think twice before signing up to be accomplices in Trump’s military exploits.
The rest of us? We can express our shame and disgust with public demonstrations and workplace strikes. We can encourage resistance by circulating messages like this one. Any other suggestions?
