Bernice Lord

Easthampton, MA – Bernice Frances Lord, age 73, of Easthampton, died peacefully at her home on Friday morning March 6, 2026 in the care of her devoted husband Clifford, after a brief illness.

She was born in Adams, MA on January 8, 1953 and she was the daughter of Bernard Anthony Lord Sr and Verna Frances (Hurlbut) Lord Luczynski. She was raised and educated in Adams until age 9, before moving to Greenfield, where there she completed her education graduating from Greenfield High School.

Bernice continued her education at Western New England University in Springfield, graduating Summa Cum Laude. It was there she received her BA in Accounting a program designed to meet CPA Licensure requirements. She passed the CPA exam on her first attempt and was certified in SOWMBA.

Shortly after, she then entered her lifelong love of accounting and opened Bernice F. Lord, CPA located in Easthampton. Her dedication and love for her profession would also find her mentoring many who were entering the Accounting Profession. Bernice operated her very successful CPA office for nearly forty years, serving close to eighteen hundred clients, unfortunately, her sudden health issues forced her to retire early.

Bernice was also proud of her faith, and she was a communicant of Our Lady of the Valley Parish. She was also civically minded, a longtime standing member of the Easthampton Chamber of Commerce, MA Society of CPA’S, American Institute of CPA’S. In her free time, she loved her trips to casinos, lottery scratch tickets, attending auctions, candlepin bowling leagues at Canal Bowling Lanes in Southampton. Her love of the beach and traveling with Cliff to their home in St. Petersburg, Florida for get aways and hosting numerous parties at her home. Truly, her enjoyment was her quite time at her home. Tending to her flower gardens, doing arts and crafts, reading, or just relaxing by her pool on the deck with her beloved pup, Joey.

Bernice will be missed deeply by her loving husband Clifford J. Goodrow, sons; Leonard Louis Adams of Greenfield, Kevin Michael Anders of Florida, stepson; Christopher J. Goodrow of Palmer, stepdaughter; Donna M. Goodrow of Chicopee, brothers; Bernard Lord Jr, Richard Lord, John Lord, sister; Tina McIntosh, Sheryl Dodge, Denise Little, step granddaughter; Lana Goodrow and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother Frank Dodge.

Calling Hours for Bernice will be held at the Graham Funeral Home, 18 Adams Street in Easthampton on Thursday, March 12th from 2-6pm. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 13th at 10am at the Our Lady of the Valley Parish, 33 Adams Street in Easthampton, friends are requested to go directly to the church. Burial will follow at Saint Stanislaus Cemetery, Mayher Street in Easthampton.
