I oppose almost all of the Trump administration’s policies. But I did gain a grudging measure of respect for the president in his recent State of the Union address. He is a master of melodrama, not unlike many of our most beloved television evangelists. Snobbish Europeans often point to America’s gullible, poorly educated , and unsophisticated populace.
