Goshen, MA – On the 19th of January, Carl Stephen Eldred, a lifelong resident of Goshen, passed away under comfort care. After years of raising a family, and working as a sawyer in the area mills, he seceded his father, Stephen Eldred, to run the family dairy farm with his mother, Florence Eldred, for the years to follow.
If it's the job of parents, to slow the world down long enough for the children to figure it out, Carl succeeded in that. He was a steady anchor of family life; always available, welcoming, and an ever reminder of our long local ancestry. He always demonstrated an appreciation for the beauty of his family land, the time spent with his children and grandchildren, and his vast network of friends.
A Celebration of Life gathering in Carl's memory, will be held in the upstairs hall of the American Legion, on Bridge Street in Haydenville, on the 21st of February from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
