Photo: Whimsical Bunny Boy: Snow sculpture reflects immigrant child’s image

Francie Riddle, an art teacher at Springfield Technical Community College, works on a snow sculpture she calls Whimsical Bunny Boy at her home in Florence. The sculpture was inspired by the image of Liam Conejo Ramos, a 5-year-old Ecuadorian boy, being detained by ICE agents in Minneapolis last week after returning from school with his father. A widespread photograph of the incident depicts Ramos detained wearing a bright blue bunny hat and a Spiderman backpack. "It's not very often you get an image so moving that you want to do something with it. This is my quiet way. It's an age where every once in a while something happens and you have to do something.
