HADLEY — A restaurant that uses a proprietary app as part of its food delivery and takeout concept is looking to open at the Mountain Farms Mall property.
Site plan approval for Wonder, LLC, which intends to renovate its space in the multi-tenant building at 7 South Maple St., was waived by the Planning Board Tuesday.
“It’s a unique type of restaurant that has really been born of the times we live in,” said Sean T. Regan, an attorney with Dalton & Finegold of Boston.
Regan explained that the proprietary app for Wonder allows takeout and delivery of the food prepared there to be more efficient.
The website for the company describes Wonder as “the best restaurants from across the country, all in one place.” Among the restaurants listed are Tejas Barbecue, Detroit Brick Pizza Co., Walnut Lane by Jonathan Waxman, Burger Baby and Bobby Flay Steak.
Wonder will be going into the building originally built for Manny’s TV & Appliances that has in recent years housed both Mattress Firm and Orange Theory Fitness.
Wonder will return with information about the signs it will install on the building to be in compliance with town bylaws.
In other business, the board began reviewing plans for a new Bank of America building that will be constructed at the corner of South Maple Street and Route 9; received preliminary plans for changes to the parking at 207 Russell St., a plaza with medical and dental offices and a fitness center. This will allow 14 new parking spaces to be added, increasing the lot to 60 spaces, by constructing a retaining wall at the rear of the property; and continued looking at plans for a 55-and-over apartment building that would be constructed at the Village Barn Shops site.
