The Belchertown boys basketball team snapped its three-game losing streak following a 58-53 win against Westfield at home on Wednesday.
The Orioles trailed by one point entering the final frame (47-46) but outscored the Bombers 17-6 in the final eight minutes of action to move to 6-6 on the season.
Brice Letendre was excellent for Belchertown, nabbing a game-high 31 points, while Jake Pacunas also filled the scoresheet for the Orioles with 17 points.
Wednesday’s victory was Belchertown’s first since its 67-40 drubbing versus West Springfield on Jan. 8.
Girls basketball
Pittsfield 55, Frontier 53 (OT) — The Redhawks were handed their first loss since opening day in the overtime defeat to the Generals.
Addie Harrington (18 points) and Skylar Steele (15 points) were productive for Frontier, which had won its previous 10 contests.
Hockey
Easthampton 8, Chicopee 3 — Five points each from Grayson Prevey-Catrambone and Brayden Fennessy lifted the Eagles over the Pacers.
Prevey-Catrambone contributed two goals and three assists, while Fennessy factored in one goal and four assists as Easthampton claimed its third consecutive win. Parker Christy added two goals for the victors.
Tommy Bixby and Lewin Coady combined for 13 saves in net for the Eagles.
Wrestling
Mahar 59, Belchertown 18 — Alex Maroney (120), Eli Grillo (215) and Thomas Normandeau (285) picked up wins on the mat for the Orioles in the defeat.
The Senators secured the remaining 11 matches of the dual meet.

Boys basketball
Greenfield 67, Hampshire 63 — The Raiders came up short in their non-league loss to the Green Wave at home.
Hampshire dropped to 6-5 overall.
Girls basketball
Northampton 57, Shepard Hill 23 — The Blue Devils were in full control in this one as three players surpassed double-digit point totals.
Emme Calkins was the catalyst for Northampton (7-4), finishing with a game-high 22 points, while Anna Oravec (14 points) and Makayla Fydenkevez (12 points) supported Calkins.
Swimming
Northampton 117, Holyoke 13 (girls) — Clara Bloomenthal and Safia Abdul-Knerr were the standout swimmers for the Blue Devils in the big win.
Bloomenthal won the 200 freestyle and the 100 backstroke, while Abdul-Knerr claimed first place in the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 breaststroke.
Katie Caron earned the most points for the Purple Knights (eight) with a pair of second-place finishes.
Northampton 62, Holyoke 59 (boys) — A victory in the 400 free relay catapulted the Blue Devils past the Purple Knights.
Northampton’s winning squad consisted of Mazen Abdul-Knerr, Taj Abdul-Knerr, Cole Mattison-Gulotta and Rinchen Monlam.
Ibrahim Salloum, Steven Plotniak and Michael Gouderalt each won individual events for Holyoke.
