
LEVERETT — A final piece of Leverett’s 250th anniversary celebrations, which took place throughout 2024, will be held at the Community Room at the Leverett Library, 75 Montague Road, Saturday from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
The closing reception will give residents an opportunity to write or draw on the Story Scroll, which will be archived for the next generation of residents to see in 50 years.
A time capsule is also being created, with the contents to be discussed before it is capped and placed in a place where it can be found in 2074. A time capsule for the town’s 200th anniversary in 1974 was not located last year.
Also on display will be the community quilt created for the 250th birthday, with information about the town quilters who pieced together the squares.
Refreshments will be served.
HAYDENVILLE — The annual Haydenville Artisan Show and Collectibles Sale will take place on Saturday at Haydenville Congregational Church from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Local artisans will set up tables and tents on the church grounds.
Collectible items will be for sale in the church. According to event organizer, Megan Jewett, collectibles range from art work and jewelry to furniture, musical instruments and sports equipment. Jewett said there will also be discounted gift certificates to local businesses on sale.
Lunch will be served in the church dining hall.
The show and sale will be held rain or shine. The church is at 143 Main St. Haydenville.
SOUTH HADLEY — World-renowned drummer Antonio Sanchez, a four-time Grammy winner, will lead a drum clinic in South Hadley on Friday at Wood & Weather Drum Shop, 110 Main St.
Local drummers of all levels can learn directly from Sanchez as he explores technique, soloing concepts, and the art of musical storytelling through motivic development on the drums. Attendees will also get the chance to experience the power and versatility of the Yamaha Tour Custom Maple Drum Set, a favorite among touring professionals. The event is sponsored by Yamaha.
Sanchez has recorded and performed with prominent artists including Chick Corea, Gary Burton, Michael Brecker, Charlie Haden and Toots Thielmans.
In 2014 Sanchez’s popularity soared when he scored Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance), which ended up fetching four Academy awards (including best picture) and for which Antonio won a Grammy award.

HOLYOKE — Wistariahurst Museum will kick off its 2025 Sensory Friendly Sunday Funday Summer Passport Series on this Sunday under the theme of Celebrate Pride. The series will continue on the following Sundays, from noon to 3 p.m.: June 19 (Celebrate Juneteenth), July 13 (Dino Days), July 27 (Garden Grooves), Aug. 10 (Feelin’ Froggy), Aug. 24 (Back 2 School), Sept. 7 (Indigenous Joyfest) and Sept. 21 (Fall Fun.) The museum is located at 238 Cabot St.
On these days, Wistariahurst visitors will get their own passport that will be stamped at every event. Guests will get rewarded prizes based on how many stamps they collect by the end of the series.
Sunday Fundays are designed for guests of all ages, with those with sensory sensitivities in mind. Throughout the first floor, children will be able to interact with fine motor activities, puzzles, and board games to engage with and enjoy. Gross motor activities like hula hoops, hopscotch, and bounce balls will get everyone moving and grooving. A low sensory area will be available to guests as well.

AMHERST – The Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce will host a New & Notable Business Expo on Thursday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Inn on Boltwood, 30 Boltwood Ave., in Amherst.
The expo is open to the public and highlights the Chamber’s newest members and showcases their products and services, from fitness centers and culinary delights to retail and business support. The summer kickoff event offers an interactive and engaging space for networking, discovery, and connection while celebrating the latest additions to the Amherst area business landscape.
More than 25 new Chamber members will be included at the event, which will also feature music by DJ Matt Peterson, interactive activities, and door prizes.
