BOSTON (AP) — Bill Monbouquette, an All-Star pitcher who threw a no-hitter and had a 20-win season for his hometown Boston Red Sox, has died. He was 78. Monbouquette died Sunday at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston due to complications from leukemia, the Red Sox announced Monday. Monbouquette spent more than 50 years in professional baseball as a player, coach and scout. He was inducted into the Red Sox Hall of Fame in 2000. Born and raised in nearby Medford, the right-hander was signed by Boston in 1955 and made his Red Sox debut three years later at age 21. He was selected to …
