Adrienne Pascucci, Northampton win WMass Heptathlon titles
Adrienne Pascucci successfully defended her heptathlon title Thursday.
The recent Northampton graduate finished with 3,942 points and led the Blue Devils to the Western Mass. Heptathlon championship at Northampton.
Northampton finished first with 16 points and was followed by East Longmeadow (eight) and South Hadley (five) and Frontier (four).
East Longmeadow’s Shannon Kennedy was second with 3,486 points. Leah Tompkins, of Northampton, was third (3,332), South Hadley’s Angela Thibault was fourth (3,238) and Kat Miner finished fifth (3,199).
The two-day event concluded with the long jump, javelin and 800.
Sophie Sharp, of Northampton, and Pascucci tied for first in the long jump at 15 feet, 7 inches. Thibault was third (15-1∕2) and Miner fourth (14-10 1∕2).
Northampton’s Erika Dean was second in the 800 (2:25.10). Pascucci was third (2:27) and Sarah Conlisk fourth (2:28).
Katherine Conlisk, of Frontier, was third in the javelin at 92-3. Pascucci was 11th at 74-5.
