Wednesday’s preps: Williston girls lacrosse rolls past Westminster

Karly Simpson of South Hadley and Kirstyn Kruse each had four goals as the Williston girls lacrosse team beat Westminster 12-4 Wednesday to stay unbeaten at 5-0.

Hannah Gagnon of Easthampton had one goal and one assist in the win.


Williston 9, Pomfret 6 — Erik Ostberg of Florence was 4-for-4 with an RBI for the Wildcats (3-2) at home.


Williston 22, Pomfret 20 — Sydney Belinskas had four hits, four runs and four RBIs, while Jill Slezek of Hatfield had three hits, three runs and three RBIs for the Wildcats (2-2), who had 20 hits.

Boys lacrosse

Williston 13, Wilbraham & Monson 6 — Jack Shumway had two goals, while Dan Gould and Zach Pysen, both of Easthampton, each had one goal for the Wildcats (2-4).

Girls water polo

Loomis 8, Williston 4 — Persis Ticknor of Easthampton had two goals in the loss for the Wildcats (2-5).

Boys golf

Deerfield 197, Williston 208, Wilbraham & Monson 229 — Eric Yarrows of Easthampton shot a 39 to pace Williston at The Ledges in South Hadley.

Girls golf

Loomis 21∕2, Williston 21∕2; Williston21∕2, Ethel Walker 21∕2— Caitlin Berube shot a 45 to pace the Wildcats (0-3-2) at Tower Ridge Country Club in Simsbury, Conn.

Girls track

Williston 103, Cheshire 36 — Devon Greenwood of Easthampton won the 1,500-meter run, while Hannah King of Easthampton won the 300 hurdles for the Wildcats.

Boys track

Williston 72, Cheshire 64 — Drew Thomas of Florence won the 400, while Kyle Watson of Westhampton won the 800 for the Wildcats.
