Friday’s colleges: Brittany Moore scores three goals to lift UMass women’s soccer over URI
Brittany Moore scored three times and that was all the University of Massachusetts women’s soccer team needed in a 3-1 victory over Rhode Island, Friday in Amherst.
Megan Burke, Jen Coppola and Jackie Bruno each had one assist, while Danielle Kriscenski made three saves for UMass (6-7-2, 2-2-1 Atlantic 10).
UMass 7, La Salle 1 — Ten players scored at least a point as the Minutewomen (11-4, 2-0 Atlantic 10) won at Garber Field.
Brooke Sabia (two goals, assist) led the scoring for the Minutewomen, while Laura Allymohamed, Hailey Cockrum, Renee Suter, Charlotte Verelst and Izzie Delario each had one goal.
Sam Carlino made four saves for UMass.
Amherst 3, Colby 0 — Maggie Danner and Nicole Gould each had 12 kills, while Lauren Antion had seven spikes as the Lord Jeffs (14-5, 6-2 NESCAC) won 25-9, 25-17, 25-21.
Nicole Carter finished with 32 assists and eight digs, while Katie Warshaw chipped in with a team-high 16 digs.
