UMass field hockey falls to UNH in overtime on own goal
The University of Massachusetts field hockey team was upset by New Hampshire, 3-2 in overtime at Garber Field Friday.
Lauren Allymohamed and Nicole Miller each scored, while Charlotte Verelst had an assist for UMass (7-3).
UNH (4-4) scored just over 10 minutes into overtime on an own goal by the Minutewomen.
Megan Bozek sent a pass into the circle intended for teammate Emma Compagna. The ball rolled by Compagna and a marking defender untouched, and deflected off of goalkeeper Sam Carlino (four saves).
UMass hosts No. 2 Maryland (8-0) at 1 p.m. Sunday.
