Friday’s colleges: UMass field hockey blanks Harvard

Three different players scored as the 14th-ranked UMass field hockey team stayed unbeaten with a 3-0 victory over Harvard Friday.

The Minutewomen improved to 4-0 with the win at Garber Field.

Lauren Allymohamed, Izzie Delario and Brooke Sabia each scored for UMass, which hosts No. 19 Boston College Sunday.

Smith College 11, Bay Path 0 — Allie Stein tied her own school record for goals in a game with six as the Pioneers advanced to play host Vassar in the Betty Richey Tournament.

Men’s soccer

New Hampshire 1, UMass 0 — Nick Ruiz made seven saves but the Minutemen (0-2-1) fell in the Windjammer Classic in Burlington, Vt.

Women’s soccer

UMass 1, Providence 1 — Jackie Bruno gave the Minutewomen (0-3-1) a 1-0 lead late in the second half, but the Friars (2-1-1) scored 39 seconds later for the tie in Rhode Island.

Danielle Kriscenski made eight saves for UMass.

Women’s volleyball

Springfield 3, Amherst 0 — Maggie Danner and Jackie Buechler had seven and six kills, respectively, but the Lord Jeffs fell 25-15, 25-12, 26-24 in their season opener.
