Weekend high school and prep games: Amherst Regional boys lacrosse defeats Westfield in overtime
Nick Johnson scored the game-winner in overtime as the Amherst Regional boys lacrosse team defeated Westfield 8-7 at home Saturday.
Isaac Bass (three goals) won the face-off to begin the extra frame to set up the winner for the Hurricanes (3-2).
Kieran Presley (one assist) and Johnson scored twice each, while Donovan Riley added one goal and two assists.
Drew Kosloski was credited with an assist, while Will Barstow made 12 saves.
South Hadley 10, Marshfield 9 — Evan Marcus netted four goals and an assist as the Tigers (8-1) won on the road Saturday.
Tom Crotty (assist) and Sam Duda each scored twice, while TJ Fitzell and Tom Dowd added one apiece.
Ryan Dickinson was credited with an assist, while Jake Lesieur made three saves in net.
Williston 10, Millbrook 8 — Ledell Robinson was 2-for-4 with a home run, three runs scored and four RBIs as the Wildcats (4-2) won at home Saturday.
JD Askin also had two hits and scored twice while driving in a run.
Williston 21, Hopkins School 3 — Delaney Belinskas batted 4-for-5 with five runs and five RBIs and earned the win with a complete game two-hitter in the circle Saturday in New Haven, Conn.
Alicia Barry added three hits, three runs and two RBIs, while Liz Calderone of Whately and Laura Aptowitz smacked a home run each for the Wildcats (3-2).
Hopkins School 9, Williston 8 — Griffin Foley had two goals and one assist, but the Wildcats (2-5) lost Saturday in New Haven, Conn.
Jack Shumway of South Hadley and Nick Gardofano each had one goal and one assist.
Conor Archbald of Williamsburg contributed two assists.
Williston 15, Millbrook 2 — Karly Simpson of South Hadley had five goals and two assists for the Wildcats at home Saturday.
Maggie Fitzgerald added three goals and two assists, while Taylor Potasky (one assist) and Maddie Hatch (two) scored once each.
Janelle Parker made four saves in the win.
Williston 215, Northfield Mount Hermon 230 — Eric Yarrows of Easthampton earned medalist honors with a 40 for the Wildcats (3-3-1) at Crumpin-Fox in Bernardston.
David Fay of South Hadley shot a 41.
Williston 3, Hotchkiss 2 — Zoe Lai shot a team-best 43 as the Wildcats (1-3-2) earned their first win of the season Saturday at Southampton Golf Course.
Allie Lewis of Hadley earned a point in the victory.
