UMass women's basketball falls to Northeastern
Jasmine Harris scored a career-high 14 points, but the University of Massachusetts women’s basketball team lost to Northeastern 78-51 Saturday in Boston.
Harris marked a personal best with four 3-pointers made in the loss.
Sophomore guard Emily Mital had 11 points for the Minutewomen (2-10), while Rashida Timbilla added seven rebounds and nine points.
The Huskies pulled away quickly via 3-pointers. Northeastern went 8-13 from 3-point range in the first half to take a 42-33 lead into halftime.
The Minutewomen had 25 turnovers in the game and those miscues led to 32 points for the Huskies.
Northeastern also had a substantial advantage close to the basket, with 36 points in the paint. UMass managed only 18.
Timbilla and Nola Henry led UMass with four assists each.
Mital and Henry also had two steals each for UMass.
The Minutewomen play again Dec. 28 at the Mullins Center against Siena College.
