Commends Northampton schools head for admitting mistake
To the editor:
Brian Salzer should be recognized for his leadership in admitting a mistake was made in requiring students to write a pledge and not disclosing it was to be used for a police investigation.
Dishonesty is not consistent with how our young adults should be treated and failure to recognize their rights of due process is a poor way to teach the fundamental rights ensured by our Constitution, rights the courts have consistently ruled apply to students. His leadership in setting a respectful course for Northampton’s schools in no way should be interpreted as a slight to Assistant Principal Bryan Lombardi.
