Mary Parker: Grateful for kindness after bike crash
To the editor:
Last weekend I crashed my bike while riding on a bike trail. I remember hitting wet leaves and losing control. The next thing I remember is lying flat on the ground with good Samaritans over me.
I had lost consciousness. I did not know where I was or what had happened. They apparently called for help and stayed with me, attempting to reorient me and keep me calm. The EMTs got me to the hospital. I was wearing my helmet and feel that saved me from serious injury, though I received bumps, bruises and a concussion.
I wasn’t in any state to thank those who cared for me. I hope this letter reaches those people and conveys my deepest thanks for their kindness.
