Linda Marston & Dennis Bromery: Do the right thing: Vote, and make it a vote for Ed Markey
To the editor:
Ed Markey needs your vote June 25 in the statewide special election for the U.S. Senate. There’s no question about whom to vote for: If you’re a Democrat, a progressive, a union member, concerned about climate change, women’s rights, or support Elizabeth Warren and President Obama — you need to vote.
Step One: Today, make a calendar appointment for when you will vote. We like to vote first thing before work, to make sure it gets done. Step Two: Will you be out of town June 25? Vote absentee! Check with your town clerk when they’ll be open, right up until the 25th. You can apply and vote in one short visit. Remember to bring ID and proof of your address, just in case they ask to verify that.
Step Three: Cast your ballot for Markey, Democrat for U.S. Senate. He’ll take care of us, bringing his vast and principled experience in Congress with Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s amazing leadership.
It’s that simple! We all have to take care of each other. Be that good example, motivating others to do the right thing. Right now, that means voting, and letting others know that you will be voting. Can you also help someone else get to the polls or vote absentee? Make an appointment for that, too.
Markey and Warren: What a powerful team for our state and the nation. Is that appointment in your calendar yet?
