People must lead on renewed gun control
To the editor:
Do you own a gun (or many guns)? If you have children or grandchildren, if you have friends with children, if a child has ever touched your heart, if you were ever a child, turn in you gun(s) to your local police office today.
Then, take that passion for hunting or that fondness for lethal hardware or that fear that drives you to think you can protect yourself from some intruder if you just have that gun in your bedside table, and transform those emotions into action. If you must kill something, kill the Second Amendment to the Constitution.
And parents, are your game-playing children killing zombies with their friends beside them on the couch? Please consider permanently pulling the plug on lethal-minded “games.”
It’s too late for 20 little children in Connecticut, but it is time for all who love children — all who cherish life — to flood the halls of Congress and to stay there until guns in the hands of our citizenry are a distant memory of an uncivilized nation that came to its senses.
If the people lead, the leaders will follow.
