Columnist stereotypes Democrats in US

To the editor:

Dr. Jay Fleitman makes the telling mistake of a true partisan, that of stereotyping his opponent, the “Democrat.”

He can’t comprehend that some of us can believe in and actually live lives of responsibility, and even possibly have other redeeming qualities, and not be Republican.

So shocking! (Are there closet Republicans?)

Living here must be truly difficult, where he feels so unrepresented, his head ringing with cognitive dissonance.

Here’s a fact that might or might not help: The 49 percent who did not vote for Obama was not 49 percent of the nation, but 49 percent of those who went to the polls. It is also a fact that the Republican Party thought that its path to victory was to make it more difficult for some people to vote.

I want to say that this election showed that the presidency cannot be bought by a few rich donors, but the total amount spent was truly obscene.
