Celebrating the purpose of ‘re-purposing’ day

It was great to enjoy the unseasonably warm weather Nov. 10 by taking part in the Northampton ReUse Committee’s up-cycle event. We would like to thank staff of the Northampton Department of Public Works, especially Karen Bouquillon and Deb Laizer, as well as the many volunteers whose well-organized efforts made check-in, setup and cleanup efficient and smooth.
The recycling and information stations, as well as the Salvation Army truck available for donated items, fit nicely into the up-cycling theme. We enjoyed the camaraderie of both shoppers and vendors, undoubtedly helped by the beautiful day, and also appreciated the opportunity to be part of the re-purposing event.
