Scott Brown’s actions don’t match his words

To the editor:

Scott Brown tells us he is pro women’s issues. There is an ad where his wife tells us her husband supports woman’s health choices and equal pay. That is interesting because his actions don’t match his words. He had the opportunity to show us and he voted against these bills. That’s odd. Scott Brown says one thing but does another.

In all the debates with Elizabeth Warren, Scott Brown does not miss an opportunity to tell us he is bipartisan and that he is the most bipartisan senator in Washington. That’s odd — since his record shows he voted 93 percent with Republicans. How bipartisan is that?

As many Republicans in Congress did, Scott Brown signed the Grover Norquist pledge in 2010 and 2012 (easy to look up online). His voting record reflects an allegiance to this pledge not to raise taxes on the 1 percent at the top. He has kept that pledge. What about his oath of office and his pledge to work for us in the commonwealth?

Scott Brown has been in Congress for two years. I don’t need to send him back for a longer term. His record does not speak for us.

There will be a deluge of attacks and distortions against Elizabeth Warren in the next few weeks to distract us from the facts about Scott Brown’s record. I want a real change in government for our state and the country and Scott Brown won’t bring that. Elizabeth Warren will.
