Ralph Kaplan: Here’s an idea for House GOP to consider
To the editor:
The naked callousness of the House of Representatives’ vote to slash food stamp assistance tempts me to think of the inimitable Jonathan Swift.
This latest policy move come sin conjunction with the Republican longing for the health care glory days of millions of Americans lacking health insurance, the packaging of the various social service programs into block grant consolidations complete with diminished funding and a stalwart stance which will affirm ideological purity by shutting down the federal government
With due apologies to Swift, I wish to offer the modest proposal that the Republicans simply eat the poor.
