Bill and Barbara Rakaska: Backing Marianne LaBarge for City Council in Northampton

To the editor:

As Ward 6 residents for over 40 years, we have seen many changes. One very positive change has been having Marianne LaBarge as our city councilor. She has been able to connect Ward 6 residents with the city services and people they need to talk to.

We worked closely with Marianne and others in getting the C54 Memorial on Florence Road. It was her energy and knowledge that got all the people together to make it possible. Marianne was there for her constituents when we had safety concerns and was instrumental in getting stop signs and a traffic light put in place that made the Route 66/Florence Road and Burts Pit/Florence Road intersections safer.

Councilor LaBarge knows this ward and the residents. She knows the workings of Northampton government and works tirelessly on city committees to stay informed. Marianne also keeps Ward 6 up to date by holding meetings with officials and residents. We believe Marianne is the best choice for this Ward.

Please vote Tuesday.
