Warren is a champion  of American middle class

To the editor:

Authenticity, clarity of vision and message, and compassion: These are three attributes of Elizabeth Warren herself, and of her campaign for senator, that come across loud and clear to me. By now, I have heard her speak in person three times in the Northampton area, heard her televised speech at the Democratic Convention, and watched her first debate against Scott Brown.

Her message never wavers: She is “all in” for the middle class, a champion for all working families. She believes in dignity and independence for all of our senior citizens, and will fight to protect Medicare and Social Security. She is in favor of moving forward with health care programs that will ensure the health and safety of all Americans, not just the wealthy who can afford it.

She is in favor of tax fairness, and believes that the wealthiest people in our country should pay their fair share. She stands up to Wall Street to protect consumers, and will work hard to help put people back to work and to safeguard the jobs of our teachers, firefighters and police officers. She supports clean energy sources, and environmental protections for clean air and water. She is a champion of women’s rights including access to birth control, and equal pay for equal work.

The choice between Warren and Sen. Scott Brown is crystal clear, at least to me, when the two candidates’ views are placed side by side. Please join me in voting for Warren for senator Nov. 6.
