Three Stars- Kansas State
Credit where credit is due. I'm borrowing this concept from:
A. The NHL
B. Jon Couture's excellent Better Red than Dead Red Sox blog at the New
Bedford Standard Times. My version is different than Couture's, but his
inspired mine.
For every UMass game this season, I'll be giving out three stars to the top
three performers from the Minutemen and keeping track of who earns the most three start points over the course of the season.
I'm putting a little extra weight on No. 1. So a No. 1 star is worth 5 points. A No. 2 is worth three and a No. 1 is worth 2.
Three Stars from UMass vs. Kansas State
No. 1 - Ke'mon Bailey - Cornerback was a huge position of concern for the Minutemen coming in and Bailey, a converted wide receiver was terrific with six tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. His play should make the Minutemen much more optimistic going forward.
No. 2 - Tyler Holmes - If there is a candidate to go from unknown to all-league for UMass, Holmes might be the guy. His 12 tackles could be a sign of things to come.

No. 3. - Tony Nelson - Against a Big XII defense geared up to stop him, Nelson rushed for 107 yards.
Honorable mention: D.J. Adeoba
Season to date points:
Ke'Mon Bailey - 5
Tyler Holmes - 3
Tony Nelson - 2
