The Atlantic 10 is staying in Atlantic City.
According to a league source, the conference is expected to announce Tuesday that its men’s basketball tournament is staying at Boardwalk Hall for the next three seasons.
Atlantic City, which has hosted the event since 2007, was selected over Springfield, Pittsburgh, Dayton, and Cincinnati.
The format will change slightly next season as first round games will be held at campus sites. The quarterfinals, semifinals and finals will be held in Atlantic City on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Those games were held on Thursday Friday and Saturday this year.
The league is hoping that adding one more weekend day to the tournament will increase attendance.
