Monday’s high school softball: Krystel Enko fans 17 as Frontier rolls past Greenfield

Krystel Enko struck out 17 and allowed only four hits as the Frontier Regional softball team rolled to a 15-2 victory at Greenfield and pulled within a win of qualifying for the postseason.

Caitlyn Sullivan (four RBIs) had four hits for the Red Hawks (9-3, 8-3), while McKayla Poissant and Courtney Newsome each had three to pace an 18-hit attack.

Cassidy Stankowski, Gwen Thayer and Amanda Robinson (three RBIs) each had two hits.

Granby 9, Smith Academy 3 — Tessa Cote had as many hits herself as she allowed in a complete-game victory for the Rams (10-3) at home.

She struck out 10 in a four-hitter, while helping herself by going 4-for-4 with four RBIs.

Brooke Labrie (RBI, run) had two hits, while Hannah Casey (RBI) and Brie Mercier (three runs) picked up a hit apiece.

Miranda Wendolowski knocked in a pair for the Falcons (6-7), while Cassidy Snyder (two hits) and Lauren Grondin (hit) scored a run each.

Grondin fanned four in a complete game for Smith.

Easthampton 12, Renaissance 6 — Ashley Reardon pitched the first four innings to pick up her first career varsity win for the Eagles (8-4) at home.

Kelly Avard went 2-for-3 and scored twice for Easthampton. Rachel Connell (two RBIs, run) and Amanda Lambert (two runs, RBI) had a hit apiece, while catcher Haley McFarland threw out a pair of runners attempting to steal.

Caelin Mottor went the final three innings and allowed a run on two hits with five strikeouts.

Franklin Tech 14, Smith Vocational 11 — The Vikings (4-7, 4-6 Tri-County) were hurt by seven errors and double-digit walks in the loss in Turners Falls.

Rita Whitney singled, tripled, knocked in two runs and scored two for Smith Voke. Natasha Cintron had a pair of singles with an RBI and run, while Rachel Small had a hit and scored twice.

Madeline Spencer-Orrell struck out eight in a complete-game loss.

Belchertown 7, South Hadley 4 — The Orioles scored five times in the third inning and held off the Tigers at home.

Sam Manitsas earned the win allowing six hits and no walks while striking out seven. She helped herself with two hits and three RBIs. Hannah Flink (RBI) and Tea Spellacy (two runs) each had two hits.

Westfield 13, Amherst Regional 1 (5) — Becca Carkhuff had a hit and scored on the back end of a double steal for the Hurricanes (2-10, 0-3 Valley League) in the road loss.

Justine Bohl, Jazzy Moonstone and Angelica Santiago added a hit apiece for Amherst.

Pioneer Regional 4, Hopkins Academy 2 — Jocelyn Beaulier had two hits, while Jera Barrett and Kyra Michalak (RBI) each had one as the Golden Hawks (5-6, 4-6 Franklin) fell in Northfield.

Allie LaClair struck out five, walked none and allowed seven hits over six innings in the loss.
