Gazette solicits reader queries for Senate debate
NORTHAMPTON - Gazette readers with questions they'd like to ask U.S. Senate candidates Elizabeth Warren and Sen. Scott Brown are invited to submit them to be considered for next month's Springfield debate.
The debate, sponsored by the Western MA Senate Debate Consortium, will be moderated by Jim Madigan of Springfield public television station WGBY. It is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Springfield Symphony Hall, 34 Court St.
Anyone who would like to submit a question is invited to email it in to firstname.lastname@example.org with debate question in the subject line, or drop it by the Gazette's Conz Street office, or either of its news bureaus in Amherst or Easthampton.
Tickets to the 2,600-seat hall are free, but must be obtained in advance. The Gazette is holding a drawing to distribute its tickets. Anyone interested in obtaining tickets should email email@example.com by Wednesday, putting DEBATE in the subject line. Those without email access can call 584-5000 to submit their names. Ticket winners will be notified by Friday.
For those without tickets, the debate will be broadcast live on local television stations, including channels 22, 40 and 57, CBS 3 and Fox 6. It will also be aired on radio station WFCR and live-streamed on Masslive.com.
