Keith Natale and the Smith Academy boys basketball team responded after a tough first half to defeat Sabis 51-46 in the final of the Falcons Holiday Classic on Saturday evening.

The Falcons (4-1) scored just 18 points before halftime, but put up 20 in the third quarter and emerged with the win.

Keith Natale led all scorers with 25 points, 21 of them coming in the second half. He also had nine rebounds for Smith.

David Longstreeth had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Derek McMahon added eight points and four assists.

Northampton 75, Tantasqua Regional 50 — Four players scored in double figures for the Blue Devils (4-0) in the victory at the Harrington Chase Your Dreams Tournament Saturday.

Jake Ross put in a game-high 15 points for Hamp. Aidan Hirsch scored 13, Tyler Hannigan-Page 11 and Jack Shaughnessy 10.

Frontier Regional 67, Easthampton 59 (OT) — The Red Hawks (2-4) outscored the Eagles (2-3) 12-4 in the extra session to earn the win Saturday at the Harrington Chase Your Dreams Tournament.

Ben Ruddock scored a team-high 22 points with six assists to lead Frontier. Tim Hoar (16 points) and Niko Ames (13 points, seven assists) also reached double figures in the win, while Justin Farrick pulled down a team-best nine rebounds.

Dakota Wheeler poured in a game-high 23 points and Tom Palaschak added 14 for Easthampton.

Greenfield 56, Hopkins Academy 28 — Zach Kelley scored 14 points for the Golden Hawks (2-2, 1-2 Hampshire), who fell Saturday at the Harrington Tournament in Northampton.

Girls basketball

Bolton (Conn.) 65, Amherst Regional 46 — The Hurricanes (2-4) trailed by just three after three quarters, but the host had a strong fourth to win its Holiday Tournament Saturday evening.

Elena Valenzuela-Stookey led Amherst with 14 points. James Staples and Xin Xin Tarren each added 11.

Hockey

Greenfield 4, Turners Falls 3 (OT) — Cam Woodward scored unassisted in overtime to lift the Indians (4-0-1) in the final of the Rabbit Graves Tournament Saturday evening at Collins-Moylan Rink in Greenfield.

Jourdon York-Welcome (assist), Jake Elwell and Tyler Miner added a goal apiece for Greenfield, while Tyler Townsley picked up an assist.

Tim Atkins tallied twice for the Indians (1-4). Cody Booska had a goal and two assists, while Jordan Cutting assisted twice and Nick Murphy once.

Barrett Rogaleski made 19 saves for Greenfield, while Brandon Bryant stopped 32 for Turners.

Wahconah Regional 4, Amherst Regional 2 — Jordan Tetreault and Jason Sloat each scored a goal, but the Hurricanes (2-3-1) lost the consolation game of the Rabbit Graves Tournament on Saturday.

Jack Rees picked up an assist in the loss, while Ben Thompson made 17 saves.

Agawam 6, South Hadley 0 — Devin Hoagland made 40 saves, but the Tigers (1-3-1, 0-3-1 Berry) were blanked Saturday at The Olympia.

Cathedral 9, Barnstable 3 — John Leonard of Amherst posted a hat trick as the Panthers (4-1-1) won the final of the Cape Cod Freezeout Tournament Saturday.

Boys hockey

Williston 3, Nobles 2 — Brandon Borges scored all three goals for the Wildcats (5-3-1) in the win at the Nobles Showcase on Sunday.

Tyler Scroggins had a pair of assists for Williston, while Max Willman added one.

Seth Cupak played strong defense in front of goalie Tim Nowacki, who made 36 saves.

Williston 8, St. Sebastian’s 2 — Scroggins posted a hat trick Saturday as the Wildcats were victorious at the Nobles Showcase.

Borges scored a goal with four assists in the win, and Nowacki made 19 saves.
