Wednesday’s high school baseball: Hampshire hands Palmer first league loss

Scott Labrie had two doubles as the Hampshire Regional baseball team handed Palmer its first Bi-County loss of the season, 6-3, in Westhampton on Wednesday.

Eddie Hagelstein (triple, RBI) and Nick Batchelder (double, RBI) had two hits each as well.

Dan Baldwin went the distance for the Raiders (5-5, 4-4). He allowed five hits and struck out three Panthers (9-2, 5-1).

Frontier 18, Easthampton 6 — Jared Allis went 5-for-5 with two RBIs to lead an attack that pounded out 17 hits for the Red Hawks (9-2, 5-1 Bi-County) at Booster Field in Easthampton.

Ben Ruddock went the distance for Frontier, piling up 10 strikeouts and walking three.

Rylan Baronas (3-for-4, four RBIs), Matt Byrne (3-for-5, RBI), Ryan Hoar (2-for-5, three RBIs), Peter Watroba (2-for-5, RBI) and Eddie Tsai (2-for-2) each had multiple hits for the Red Hawks.

For Easthampton, Chris Starcun had a two-run home run in the seventh, while Nick Grise had a hit and drove in one.

Turners Falls 11, Hopkins Academy 4 — Pat Knightly had three hits, but the Golden Hawks (3-8, 2-6 Hampshire) lost on the road.

Evan Delaney (triple, RBI) and Ethen Wenner (RBI) each added two hits in the loss.

Tim Knightly struck out four and walked four in five innings of work.

Sabis 18, Smith Vocational 1 — Jason Talbot had the only hit as the Vikings (0-10, 0-8 Tri-County) fell at home.
