EEE THREAT MOVES MOVIES: The upcoming A Night of Wonder carnival will move its movie showings inside due to the ongoing threat of Eastern equine encephalitis. The movies will begin at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and will be screened at High Horse Brewing, 24 North Pleasant St.


PITCH LEAGUE: The Hadley American Legion Pitch League begins its season Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. at the Olde Hadley American Legion Post 271, 162 Russell St. The league is open to men and women. Sign-ups must be complete Sept. 22. For information, call Tom Stolarski at 549-6996 or the Legion at 586-9699.

FALL FESTIVAL: The Hadley Fall Festival will take place Sept. 28 at the First Congregational Church of Hadley and the Hadley Farm Museum at the corner of routes 9 and 47. It will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be booths selling knitted and crocheted pieces and holiday items.

There also will be antique furniture, wood carvings, jewelry, local jams and jellies and tools for sale. There will be fresh baked goods, golumpki and pierogi. Horse drawn carriage rides in an 1848 Concord stagecoach will be offered and there will be farming displays, a tag sale and a silent auction. For more information call 584-4117.


COMMUNITY CHORUS: The Southampton Community Chorus begins its fall season Sept. 11 at the Southampton Congregational Church at 212 College Highway.

Rehearsals are every Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. New singers are welcome, no auditions necessary.

PARSONS FETE: An open house honoring Margaret Parsons, who is retiring after more than 40 years as Westhampton’s treasurer, accountant and administrative assistant, will be held Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Town Hall.

The public is invited to bid farewell to Parsons, who will be working on a new creamery project at her family’s Mayval Farm.

A “Parsons Retirement Fund” has been established at Easthampton Savings Bank for those wishing to contribute to a gift for Parsons.
