Gabby Thomas paces Williston girls soccer team

Gabby Thomas of Florence scored twice and Gia Parker of Amherst added one goal as the Williston girls soccer team shut out Taft 4-0 Wednesday in Watertown, Conn.

Ellie Padilla had a goal and one assist, while Kelly O’Donnell of Belchertown and Parker each had one assist.

Christina Zalewski made four saves for the Wildcats (4-5-0).

Girls soccer

Williston 1, Cheshire 0 — Connor Archbald of Williamsburg scored with an assist from Aaron James of Amherst as the Wildcats won on the road.

Boys water polo

Deerfield 10, Williston 9 — Dan Bridge of Worthington and Ryan Cavanaugh of Northampton each had three goals but the Wildcats (3-8) fell at home.

Ian Bowman of South Hadley added one goal and Matt Wayman made 11 saves in the loss.

Field hockey

Taft 4, Williston 2 — Jill Slezek and Maddy Jerolman each scored but the Wildcats (5-4) fell on the road.

Catie Laraway had one assist, while Laura Aptowitz made five saves in the loss.

Colleges
Field hockey

Elms College 2, Daniel Webster 1 — Kayla Narey of South Hadley scored the game-winning goal in the 54th minute as the Blazers (5-10, 3-1 NECC) won in Nashua, N.H.

Meghan Goodrow of Sunderland had one assist in the win.

Bridgewater State 3, Salem State 2 — Michaela Boyer of South Hadley made seven saves but the Vikings (8-6, 4-5 LEC) fell on the road.

UMass Dartmouth 10, Fitchburg State 0 — Erica Allan of Amherst had a goal and two assists as the Corsairs (11-5, 9-0 LEC) cruised on the road.

Women’s soccer

Amherst 5, Keene State 0 —The 10th-ranked Lord Jeffs (10-1-1, 6-1-1 NESCAC) cruised behind four first-half goals.

Mel Stier of Deerfield scored twice, while Hannah Cooper, Kathryn Nathan (two assists) and Amanda Brisco each had one goal.

Megan Kim and Sarah Duffy each had one assist, while Holly Burwick (four saves) and Meghan Mills (two saves) split time in net.
