Property Briefing

For the week ending Nov. 23, the sale of a home in Belchertown was the highest recorded property transaction in Hampshire County, followed by real estate sales in Southampton and Northampton.

Donald R. Besancon, trustee of the Donald R. Besancon Investment Trust, sold an approximately 4,300-square-foot home at 76 South Washington St. for $750,000 to Julie Malinkevich and Michael Pazos, also of Belchertown.

The Colonial-style home has three bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms and sizeable garage space on 15.3 acres. The home was built in 2006 and the property is assessed at $549,675, according to town assessors’ records.

The second-highest sale, for $475,000, occurred in Southampton, where Selina M. and Frank N. Fournier IV of Easthampton bought a newly built home at 34 Line St. from developers James F. and Patricia A. Boyle. The approximately 3,000-square-foot home has four bedrooms and 3.5 baths and is situated on a 1.38-acre lot.

The third-highest property transaction involved the sale of a condominium at 24 Strong Ave. in downtown Northampton.

Richard G.M. Jardine of Miami Beach, Fla., sold the 1,650-square-foot unit and a garage for $440,000 to Arley and Tristan Diaz of Framingham, according to land records.

The five-room condo has two bedrooms and two bathrooms and, along with the garage, is assessed at $463,300.

Built in 2005, the property was purchased in 2010 for $435,000.
