UMass women’s basketball falls to Siena
Jasmine Watson had 15 points and seven rebounds but the University of Massachusetts women’s basketball team fell 57-51 to Siena at the Mullins Center Friday.
Rashida Timbilla added 11 points and 12 rebounds, while Emily Mital chipped in with 14 points, including four 3-pointers
The Minutewomen (2-11) twice pulled within a basket of tying the contest during the final 18 seconds.
Amherst 62, Simpson 60 — Marcia Voigt scored the game winner with two seconds left as the seventh-ranked Lord Jeffs (9-0) won in the Land of Magic Classic in Daytona, Fla.
Jasmine Hardy and Megan Robertson (12 rebounds) each had 12 points for Amherst.
Men’s ice hockey
Amherst 5, Elmira 1 — Brian Safstrom and Topher Flanagan each scored twice as the 11th-ranked Lord Jeffs (6-3-1) won in the Buck Supply and Hynes Electric Cardinal Classic Tournament in Plattsburgh, N.Y.
