Amherst police arrests/summonses
Amherst Police
• Borlei Kellemu, 23, of Greenleaves Drive, Hadley, was arrested Nov. 11 at 9:12 p.m. at the police station on two warrants.
• Blake Williams, 48, of Dana Place, was arrested Nov. 11 at 2:24 p.m. on a charge of domestic assault and battery after an incident a few hours earlier in which he allegedly grabbed a woman by her wrists and pushed her to the ground, police said.
• Kristen E. Gargiulo, 20, of Sunset Avenue, was arrested Nov. 11 at 12:53 a.m. on Main Street on a charge operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
• A 23-year-old Amherst man will be summoned to court on a charge of operation a motor vehicle with revoked registration following a traffic stoop ion Main Street Nov. 10 at 7:37 p.m., police said.
• Daniel R. Stellato, 20, of Tyngsborough, was arrested Nov. 10 at 1:33 a.m. at Puffton Village on charges of disorderly conduct and trespassing after he ran on the hoods of several vehicles and refused to leave the area after being warned, police said.
• A 21-year-old Duxbury man will be summoned to court on a charge of disorderly conduct after he allegedly urinated on the front door of a Main Street business Nov. 10 at 1:17 a.m., police said.
• Jyhong Chea, 28, of Southpoint Apartments, was arrested Nov. 8 at 9 p.m. at home on a warrant.

• Kieran P. Murray, 18, of Somers, Conn., was arrested Nov. 5 at 2:22 p.m. at the Student Union on a warrant.
• Dimitri Ray, 22, of East Longmeadow, was arrested Nov. 5 at 1:59 a.m. on Commonwealth Avenue on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, failure to stop or yield and speeding.
• Noris D. Cuevas-Nova, 18, of Southpoint Apartments, was arrested Nov. 4 at 12:19 a.m. on Presidents Drive on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and disorderly conduct.

MONDAY, NOV. 5
BREAK-INS
• 9:15 p.m. — Three people allegedly got inside an apartment at The Boulders and caused significant damage to property before fleeing. Police are investigating.
ANIMAL COMPLAINTS
• 10:48 a.m. — A rabid fox on the Norwottuck Rail Trail near Station Road was destroyed by police.
TUESDAY, NOV. 6
LARCENY
• 9:14 a.m. — Police took a report that scrap metal was stolen from a University Drive location.
• 10:42 a.m. — Management at a North Amherst business told police three DVDs were stolen by a customer. Police are investigating.
MOTOR VEHICLE
ACCIDENTS
• 10:32 p.m. — A vehicle traveling on West Street near the Notch went off the road after the driver attempted to avoid hitting an animal and the vehicle struck several trees before rolling over, police said.
The woman driving the vehicle was wearing her seat belt and was not injured, police said.
WEDNESDAY, NOV. 7
CITIZEN ASSISTANCE
• 2:49 p.m. — An intoxicated juvenile located on Triangle Street was taken by ambulance to Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton for treatment.
DISTURBANCES
• 2:32 a.m. — Police responded to Colonial Village after a woman told police her husband was upset that he was not allowed to bring his alcohol with him during a previous police courtesy escort. The man left the home before police got there.
ADDITIONAL ACTIVITY
• 1:21 a.m. — Firefighters were called to put out a Dumpster on fire on Hobart Lane.
THURSDAY, NOV. 8
SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
• 12:04 p.m. — Police are working with management at a downtown business to identify the person responsible for sending strange poems through the mail.
• 9:04 p.m. — Two homeless men trying to get inside Ann Whalen Apartments to stay for the night were located a short time later on North Pleasant Street. They were sent on their way.
FRIDAY, NOV. 9
SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
• 1:31 a.m. — Police removed an intoxicated man and woman from a downtown restaurant.
• 2:51 p.m. — Officers went to the area of Triangle and Pray streets after getting a report of a possible fight between high school students. All was quiet when they got there.

• 12:51 a.m. — A man upset about not being let back into a downtown bar was sent on his way.
MOTOR VEHICLE
ACCIDENTS
• 12:18 a.m. — Police are issuing a ticket for violating the state’s texting law to Darius T. Peyton, 19, of Owen Drive, after the vehicle he was driving went off Sunderland Road, through a guardrail and ended up in a culvert, police said.
Peyton was taken by his father to Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton for evaluation, police said.
SATURDAY, NOV. 10
SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
• 2:01 a.m. — A man carrying a mailbox on Pine Street put it on the ground and fled before police got there.
• 3:33 a.m. — A Puffton Village resident reported a man was knocking on her bedroom window. Police determined the man was intoxicated and at the wrong home.
• 11:37 p.m. — Police responded to Pine Street after someone threw a rock and possibly a Roman candle at a home.

ACCIDENTS
• 5:54 p.m. — Robert J. Wasuekewsju, 50, of Winnetka, Ill., was cited for failure to use care in stopping after the vehicle he was driving at the intersection of Northampton Road and University Drive collided with a vehicle driven by Alexandra B. Von Mering, 20, of Gainesville, Fla., police said.
Damage to both vehicles was minor and no injuries were reported, police said.
• 7:19 p.m. — Jeffrey T. Moro, 21, of Alpharetta, Ga., cited for failure to stop at a stop sign after the vehicle he was driving onto Northampton Road collided with a vehicle driven by Jingxin Xu, 43, of Flushing, N.Y., police said.
Damage to both vehicles was minor and no injuries were reported, police said.
SUNDAY, NOV. 11
DISTURBANCES
• 1:18 a.m.— Police kept the peace between a farther and son at a South Amherst home.
• 1:30 a.m. — A South Amherst woman told police that the father of her children came to the residence and threw pumpkins and rocks at the windows. Police advised her about getting a restraining order.
VANDALISM
• 11:49 a.m. — The rear window on a vehicle parked at a College Street location was smashed sometime during the weekend
BREAK-INS
e_SBlt 7:49 p.m. — A vehicle parked on Main Street was entered after someone peeled back a tarp covering a broken window. A backpack filled with books was taken, police said.
• 10:55 p.m. — A laptop computer and a leather book bag were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked on North Prospect Street.
MOTOR VEHICLE
ACCIDENTS
• 6:49 p.m. — Anthony Demerski, 64, of Easthampton, was cited for a traffic violation after the vehicle he was driving on University Drive collided with a vehicle driven by Stephanie A. Gibbs, 20, of Palmer, police said. Damage to both vehicles was minor and no personal injuries were reported, police said.
• 8:26 p.m. — A man suffered a head injury following an accident on South East Street in which the vehicle he was driving went off the road into a utility pole, police said.
The man was taken by Amherst Fire Department ambulance to Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton as a precaution, police said.
