Amherst superintendent evaluation available online

However, no details about the evaluation were made public Tuesday. A summary of the evaluation, as well as Geryk’s self-evaluation, will be available beginning Wednesday online at www.arps.org.

After 10 members of the regional school committee and the school boards for Amherst and Pelham elementary schools submitted evaluations online, regional chairman Kip Fonsh, Amherst chairwoman Katherine Appy and Pelham chairwoman Debbie Gould summarized the responses into one summary.

At Tuesday’s meeting, school committee members were offered the chance to make final comments before approval of the evaluation. Pelham School Committee member Trevor Baptiste emphasized his support for Geryk, adding that he would like to make sure the regional district makes an effort to be “not just culturally aware, but culturally responsive.”

Fonsh thanked the members of the committees for their “very thoughtful comments.”

Geryk also thanked the members of the committee, expressing her appreciation for the time that goes into providing suggestions that are effective.

“There’s nothing more important than feedback,” Geryk said. “I honestly take that feedback very seriously.”

In other business, the regional school committee approved gifts to the high school in the amount of $21,134.98 from the Stop & Shop A+ School Rewards program and $2,500 from the A+ Kellogg Triple Winner program.

Also from the Stop & Shop program, the middle school received $1,521.52, Fort River $441.20 and Crocker Farm $635.22.
