Electric toothbrushes stolen from Amherst pharmacy, possibly for sale on the black market, police say
AMHERST — Numerous electric toothbrushes, with an estimated value of $600, were allegedly stolen by two men from CVS pharmacy, 76 North Pleasant St., early Tuesday evening.
Detective Michael Forcum said store management contacted police at 6:18 p.m. after the men grabbed the items from shelves and, when confronted by store employees, fled without paying for them.
Police were unable to locate the men, but put out a notice to other area pharmacies, as well as the CVS on University Drive.
The men have not been identified but police expect to obtain security footage from the store, Forcum said.
One man is described as white, in his 30s, with blond hair and glasses, wearing a maroon shirt and gray shorts. The other man is described as white, in his 20s, with short brown hair, wearing a maroon shirt and black shorts. Forcum said electric toothbrushes can be sold on the black market.
