Minor brush fire reported Sunday in Belchertown
Amid open-burning ban, small blaze in Belchertown
BELCHERTOWN — The Belchertown Fire Department reported a minor brush fire on Warner Road Sunday around 5 p.m. that caused no property damage or injuries.
The fire was extinguished by 6 p.m., according to the dispatcher. Further details were not available about the minor blaze.
State fire officials banned all open burning Sunday, due to dry and windy conditions across Massachusetts.
Brush fires flared in several Massachusetts communities, the Associated Press reported, as dry and windy conditions prompted the National Weather Service to post warnings that covered most of Massachusetts in response to low humidity and gusty winds.
