Beverly Swihart, who has been the grounds chairman for the Amherst Woman's Club for the last three years, waters a perennial garden Tuesday. She renovated this space two years ago, replacing briars, brush and trash with a mixture of unusual and prize-winning choices, like amsonia hubrichtii "blue star", but also several types of common chrysanthemums.
